this show is put on by a couple guys with vws. would be great for the vw community to show them some support. i am going to try to have the square fixed for it.

January 30, 2010 Noon to dusk 1st Annual Towne Lake Car Show
We are planning a Classic Car event in Towne Lake in Cypress. We will have other cars on display but would like to have a strong VW presence. We have 600 families that will be invited to this event. Its just to have fun and show off.

You can say that. My parents called me the day after our last visit and told me that they were already missing us. Just waiting till I can get a descent, steady job to make the next step to get a place together.

The guy that is putting on the show wants a count as to how many VWs will be showing up, can everyone that is planning on attending please post up ASAP so we can let him know, please.

Just found out that we will have own trophies like the Crockett show, we will not be judged with the other car classes.

Food and drinks will be sold at the show as well as things for the kids.

personally i dont think the extra trophies are necessary. atleast thats not why i go anyways.

this is supposed to be a classic car show, are watercooled included?

Mom just called Joe and he said only air cooled will be judged but water cooled are welcome to come and hang out with us.
He said 25 years and older will be judged.

Sorry but I just found out the Ghia will be sitting till Feb. So I will not be there in the vw but I will try to make it to hang out and snap some pics.

We were told 79 and before, if it were an all VW show it would be different but since the VW folks arent putting it on we dont have much of a say so in this, sorry. :(

UPDATE:

We just talked to Joe this morning and he said he felt bad about not including all the VWs since our clubs include air and water, so ALL VWs are welcome to come to the show.

A group of us will be meeting at 290 and Jones Rd at the strip center on the corner at 10 AM and cruising out to the show, we will leave there at 10:30. This will give us time to set the cars and tents up so anyone that wants to join in meet us there.

You dont have to be so rude about it.
Most of us dont live on that side of town which is why we are meeting and going in together and we want to include others which is why we invited ALL to join us on the drive in.

Nice turnout for such a freezing day. We ended up with 16 or 17 cars. Thanks to everyone that turned out.
