Hey guys!

Well it's not for sure on, but it's in the planning stages. If it goes down, it'll be in Sept.
I'm not only planning on going, but I'm also helping plan the event. I'm wondering if anyone wants to convoy?

It's usually a two day event and it's for VWs and Audis only...
Sat: We arrive in Salida, set up camp (for the out-doorsy types. There is a free campsite) or check in to our hotel/motels, then we meet the other VeeDubs/Audis for a show & shine and BBQ at the park.
Sun: The Cruise. The route is traditionally kept secret.
It's pick-your-own-pace... Some guys will floor it the first chance they get. Others won't. Some guys the last year I went (2008) were cruising at 140+ mph (so if you have a fuzz-buster, better bring it).
Don't worry about getting lost. The route isn't usually very complex, and there are checkpoints along the way so the slower cars can catch up. Also, the faster cars will usually flip around and come back to check on their slower counterparts.
The cruise will take us on a large loop around Salida, CO and the surrounding areas, Including over Monarch Pass (the Continental Divide), and through some breathtaking autum Colorado Rockies scenery...
After the cruise, we arrive back in Salida and head off for food and beer at the local pub.

It's a blast. I swear. And it never really gets too much attention (last year had only 3 cars come), so I'm trying to drum up some attendees.

There will most likely be free event shirts to anyone who pre-registers.

Let me know if you might be interested. I'll keep y'all informed, and/or you can follow it yourself here (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4901607-2010-Kolorado-Treffen&p=66134685#post66134685)

Mid Checkpoint. I know... There are no aircooled here. But It is not a watercooled only event. Air is welcome.

OK, so the Treffen is a go. Tentative dates are September 11th for the GTG, and the 12th for the cruise.
However, upon pondering the condition of my car (and talking to my wife :D ) we will not be driving. Harlie is not ready for that. Instead, we will be flying to Denver and driving my buddy's Hummbug.

But don't let that stop you!!! We'd love for as many HVWC members to come as possible!

***UPDATE!!***
The event is only "officially" one day this year.
The "Offical" date is Sunday, September 12, 2010 @ 11:00 am.
The group will meet in a lot at the corner of Hwy 285 and US 50 in Poncha Springs, CO. The course is about 150 miles long, and goes through all sorts of beautiful scenery and road types (winding mountain roads, back country hilly roads, flat and straight badlands roads, etc).

"Unofficially", attendees will arrive in town on Saturday. There are both campgrounds and hotel/motels in and around Salida (Poncha Springs is a small town only a few minutes from Salida). There is also some fun attractions in Salida including a hot spring.
Early comers will most like both meet in the park for a casual gtg, and dinner will most likely be at the pub. Because this is all unofficial, there isn't a solid plan for Saturday.
I highly recommend that anyone who comes should arrive on Saturday due to the cruise starting at 11 on Sunday. The drive is so much nicer when you're not strung out from driving...

Well that's all I've got. Let me know if you want to come so I can get a head count.
