Cruise to the Texas VolksWagen Classic

It's coming up soon. The third weekend in April.
Once again, I would like to put together a "Cruise to the Classic.
My plans are to assemble a group at a, yet to be determined, rally
point where we can have breakfast then take off for Fredericksburg.
More information will be added to this thread soon.
Bottom line, I would like to start meeting at 8:30 on Friday morning
and be on the road by 10:00.
This weekend, I will be scouting locations on 290 that would best
fit our needs.
Please feel free to add your ideas.

I am looking forward to this show. I have to find various parts for th newly aquired '67 and also seeing folks there. I am dragging the whole family down there for the weekend. We are all staying at the Sunset since we were reserved a room from last year.

It's almost half the price and a lot better maintained than the La Quinta in San Antonio that I stayed at the year my battery died.

There is a Denny's at Spring Cypress and I-290 located on the North West
corner next to What-a-Burger and in front of Hobby Lobby.

o ya there is camping but there are some more rules this year, due to last years shenanigans. you can pre-register and see the rules here (http://www.texasvwclassic.com/register_online.php).

Mark and I have eaten there too. Great food. I just looked up their listing on line and they have added to their menu.

Also they have a meeting room. Wouldn't that be great to have a group of us go "invade" the place.:hungry:

Bucees is a little too far out to start a cruise. Great place but not close enough.

not the one in giddings or whatever. there is a brand new one on 290 about 10 minutes past 1960.

Checked out the parking lot at the Denny's at Spring Cypress at Hwy 290 this weekend. Its a perfect meeting place. Large parking lot and on easy access to the freeway. It gets my vote!
