View Full Version : Air Filter Dilemma

]Okay, in trying to find a replacement for my air filter (it needs to be changed, like, last year) I have come out with only frustration. It isn't stock, it was 'upgraded' when I replaced my generator with an alternator (as I no longer had the clearance needed for the oil bath :( ).
I cant figure out with any certainty which part I need as none of the sources online I have been able to find have listed the dimensions. And the parts shops I have been to (five so far) have been completely unhelpful. What I need at the moment is one that has an outside diameter of something around 5 6/18 (?) inside diameter of 4 and a height of 1 1/2.

Here is my dilemma, should I continue to search for a replacement filter in this size or should I just replace the whole assembly with something more readily available, something nicer? :noidea:

I am game for either option, so give me your advice. I can't guarantee I'll take it, hehe, but I certainly will appreciate it.

I'll get a picture up soon. I have a hard time getting to Kermit as his store hours are exactly the same as my work hours :( I called over there, and there is a fairly good chance they have a filter that would fit, mostly I am just wondering if there isn't an overall better set up for my air filter. Being so hard to find a replacement could be a problem and my whole experience with it this week has just made me wonder if there isn't a better option out there.

Thanks for the reply, like I said, I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.
