here are the cancer pictures hah. I've already found the patch panels for the body, might need a door hinge of that one cant be cleaned up but I do not see why it can't be. other than that I definetly need a driver side door and A CARB AND INTAKE (meredith)

ya, they def welded the hing to the car. i am curious to see the mounting area for the hinge once you get that out. that might be why they did it. might need the section of that pillar to weld in.

vwracing65
08-17-2009, 05:57 PM
That IS correct! Don't rush it. Looks how long it took for me to build the oval window. Mmmm two years or was it three years. Crap see I can't remember how long it was, but I can tell you HOW MUCH was in it...

Two things to remember on building a VW

1. Don't rush it
2. Don't add all your invoices to see how much you've spent :jaw:

asimmons
08-17-2009, 06:45 PM
well it is not my first project, so i know abiout not adding up receipts and if the wifey asks how much, you hide some of the bigger ones hahaha

My schedule stays pretty busy..... sit on my big rump allday in a wrecker then come home and sit on my big rump somemore and cut up and see how much trouble i can get my daughter in..... then there is the occasional making fun of vwracing65 HAH

Take a dremel with a few cutting wheels ang cut the nut in between all the castles. don't cut into the axle. it won't hurt if you nick the drum a little. then take a cold chisel and "crack" the nut. should only take about half an hour.

a torque meister might be better than to go through that. I have never had to cut an axel nut off. I have a TM if you would like to use it. (no offence mark)

get the forged ones that airkewld offers. they have two mounting holes for the tie rods, so you can flip them when you go real low and the tie rods hit the bottom of the gas tank. besides, they are forged.
