I hate to do it, but I'm gonna.
I have a '74 Thing for sale. The body is straight, it needs new tires, paint, and a battery. Also needs a new top and side curtains, but have found those new on the Samba pretty cheap.
It was a trade when I got it and my trade had no engine, so the guy pulled the engine out of the Thing. While there's no engine in it currently, I do have an old 1500 that (if I remember right) still turns, but will definitely need a rebuild. I also think it has all its tins...
All the lights and things were working before the PO pulled the engine and battery. The wiring in the back near the rear lights will need a little cleaning up. That was another started project that I just haven't gotten around to.
When I got it, the Thing was army green and red primer. I started by sanding down the passenger front door to the metal, got grey primer on it and added khaki Krylon, which actually looked really good. I just haven't had any time to keep going.
The interior is nice and it has it's original seats. The dash looks good as well.
I have 5 wide 5 smoothies to go on it... they'll need paint, too.
Oh... it's also titled. :0) And lowered.
I'm aiming to sell for $3000.00. PM me or respond here if you're interested or know someone who is. Don't have pics since the trade went through, but do have the pics from the PO. The car was all green when he took the pics and he kept the wheels in the pics, but I can send the pics I have! You'll get the idea of just how nice this Thing is!
Have an engine to pop in? Some quick work with a spray can and it can be ready for the Night Show or Volks in the Village! ;0)
Thanks for looking!
