KAR Parts is making a move

As many of you know I work with Kermit at KAR Parts. We are currently in an expansion phase and will be moving the shop to a new location farther north from from the current location. We are going to be expanding into a building that is a little over 2 times larger than the one we currently have. We have located a new place and are in the process of building it out to our specifications. We will still be the same store but will have a drastically updated appearance. :D I wanted to start a thread to keep all of our loyal customers updated on the progress. We will still be open at the current location until further notice. The build out process will likely take around 3 weeks. Once the build out is completed and we have moved the store we will be having a grand opening as well as a car show. You all know what that means, FREE FOOD AND A GOOD TIME.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the new place. I spent about 6 hours today cleaning and pressure washing the inside of the building. 5000 square foot is a big place to clean.

We will also be extending our store hours. I am not sure what they will be, but we will be open later.

Who know about Sundays, anything is possible.

In addition to having a new store front, we will have a place designated for club meeting and gatherings. We plan to have a BBQ pit and refrigerator that can be used for the meetings. We hope that the area VW clubs will take advantage of this.

Did some more work on the building last night. We built a wall to make a hallway to the restroom. It's coming right along. The walls for the show room should be up in the next couple of days. More pics to come.

The new store is moving right along. Despite some minor setbacks all is going well. The sheet rock is almost completely installed and will be taped and floated tomorrow. The ceiling will be installed after Christmas (suspended ceiling) and the floor will be coated. Should have all of the work done by the 29th of December.

KAR Parts is moving to the new location, so please make a note in your address book. The store will be closed until Thursday, January 28th. The new location will be open for business on January 28th. The old location at 3507 Bering Dr. will no longer be in operation.
